The Importance of Proper Snowboarding Gear

Snowboarding is a winter sport that many people enjoy all over the world. In fact, some people cannot wait to hit the slopes at the first sight of snowfall. Snowboarding can be a very fun sport, but without the proper gear, it can be dangerous as well so before you head out to the resorts, make sure you have prepared yourself.

Obviously, the most important part of your snowboarding gear is the snowboard itself. There are snowboards for all More

Positron Snowboarding DVD

In the world of Snowboarding, like all of the other extreme sports, there are all sorts of styles, techniques and tricks that you can do. And of course they are all documented on video for posterity and to satisfy the sponsors who give these professional riders all sorts of money, gear, and boards (duly deserved too). But by far the coolest snowboarding DVD that I have ever seen is Positron.

A New Love For The Slopes

I have just gotten this post from a good friend of mine, I thought it was great and you should all read it!

I finished University around May of last year and was completely clueless as to what to do. The only thing I knew was that I wanted a year off from anything and I wanted to learn something new. I picked snowboarding.

The first few weeks were a very challenging time, I found it difficult to gain any More

Different snow types

As a skiing or snowboarding enthusiast, your business is snow. After all, taking up one of these snow-bound hobbies clearly means that you plan to spend quite a bit of time on the stuff. Given that you’ll have to get used to skiing on it, falling into it, and wiping it off your clothes and skin, you might want to become a bit better informed about the different types of snow that you might encounter when on the slopes. The Best Feeling Ever

posted by admin in Uncategorized

The reason why I created this site is because a few years ago I moved to the UK, and don’t get me wrong, I love it here. But I was shocked to find that the ‘mountains’ people expected me to snowboard on where in fact small hills. Seriously, they made the foothills of the Rockies look like Mount Everest and I felt that a little bit of education was needed before people went out and blindly booked their ski holidays.

Growing up I remember that the best feeling ever was when you climbed onto the gondola to go up to the top of Sunshine Village. And when you reached the get-off point you felt like you were on top of the world. And then you would climb on a chairlift and go even higher. I don’t know what it feels like to fly, but I imagine that it would be a similar experience to this.

The truth of the matter is that when you are flying down a hill with a board strapped to your feet nothing can touch you (that’s not entirely true, and I have a history of broken bones to prove it). There are no worries, your alone and you can be exactly who you are, whoever that happens to be. Of everything I miss most about Canada, the dearest one is the mountains, I miss being able to touch the sky. And I think that everyone should experience that, at least once.
